2018 VBS Plans

Planning is getting started for the 2018 VBS week. It will be held the week of July 16-20, 2018 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm each evening. Mary Buchanan is leading the effort. Various volunteer positions are needed; see where you can help out.

VBS is Coming!

The 2017 edition of Vacation Bible School will address the question based on Acts 17:22-31: Who is this God, and what does He want from me? It will take place July 24-28, 2017 at Crossroads. Fun, games, snacks, and Bible lessons will be offered daily for children from pre-kindergarten through sixth grade from 9:00 m to 11:00 am.

VBS is open to all children of the area.

2016 VBS Planned... Help Needed

Crossroads will be holding morning Vacation Bible School from Monday August 1 - Friday August 5, 2016 from 9:30 am - 11:30 am daily. Teachers, helpers, and snack planners are needed. Please see Joyce Keeley if you can assist in one of these areas.

Also, as a closing event, a picnic is being planned for Sunday August 7, 2016 following the Worship Service.

A Tiny Bit-o'-Talent on Display for VBS

The 2013 VBS theme will be 'A Tiny Bit-o'-Talent' based on "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord" (Colossians 3:23). All children from age 3 to those just completing 6th grade are welcome. VBS will run July 15-19, 2013 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Crossroads.

The daily lessons will be:

• Monday: Miriam uses her special talent to worship. (Exodus 15:1-21)
• Tuesday: Besalel uses his special talent to create. (Exodus 36:1-2)
• Wednesday: Ruth uses her special talent to be a friend. (Ruth 1:1-22)
• Thursday: Isaiah uses his special talent to tell others. (Isaiah 6:1-8)
• Friday: Tabitha uses her special talent to serve. (Acts 9:36-43)

VBS Kids Raise Money for Operation Kid-to-Kid

During this year's Babylon VBS, the kids collected money to send to Operation Kid-to-Kid, a service outreach program. The kids learned about the dangers of malaria and how it is often carried by mosquitoes to people, especially in Africa. For every $6 raised, mosquito nets can be purchases for two children to share in Mali to help protect them from mosquito bites while they sleep. In addition to the money the kids raised, during VBS, all $1 bills and coins in the Sunday July 22, 2012 offering will go toward this mission outreach.

Preparing for VBS

Family VBS will be July 16-20, 2012 and your help is needed. The life and lessons of Daniel will be explored. Please sign-up if you are willing to help making this week an amazing outreach to kids and families!

Looking For VBS Help

For anyone interested in helping run a VBS program for the summer of 2012 there will be a meeting on Sunday March 18, 2012 in the kitchen following the worship service.

Hospital Visit Kits

At Family Bible School this summer the children and families present participated in a few service projects, one of which was the creation of "Hospital Visit Kits". These are cups decorated and filled with a few handmade gifts (keep in mind that children of all ages helped make them) to serve as reminders of God's love and our love for those among us who are in the hospital. The gifts include cups, bracelets, bookmarks, sun-catchers, get well cards, and other little decorations to brighten up a hospital room!

When you know someone has gone into the hospital, please take a "Kit" to that person and explain that in addition to our prayers, this is a gift of love to them from us.

The "Kits" are in the box on the shelf across from the church office.

Crossroads Road Trip on Route 254

Join us for a fun-filled week of family activities, lessons, games, food, and more!

The week kicks off with a family bike ride on Sunday July 18, 2010 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm.

Then on Monday through Friday there will be lessons and activities for kids and parents from 5:30 pm to 8:00 pm.

The week will conclude with a family fun night on Saturday July 24, 2010 at 4:00 pm.

All roads lead to Crossroads this week along Route 254.

Results of Shoe Collection Project

A special mission focus of the Family Bible School was to collect new shoes for distribution to at-risk children in the United States and to orphans in 55 countries around the world as administered by Shoes for Orphan Souls. Millions of children do not have decent shoes every day.

We collected a total of 73 pairs of shoes and 25 pairs of socks! Thank you for your support of the project.

Millions of children do not have decent shoes every day. It was decided to extend this program to the end of August before the shoes are packed and sent in. Any type of shoe or boot, socks, and shoelaces is acceptable as long as they are new. The items can be dropped off at the church.

Family Bible School Almost Here!

This summer we are having a unique Bible School program aimed at entire families. On the evenings of August 3 to 7, 2009 from 6:30-8:30 pm there will be activities, lessons, crafts, games, and snacks geared for family groups. Even if you do not have young children, we have something for you, too. Why should the kids have all the fun? Get the word out for this special event!

There will be a very important meeting on Sunday August 2, 2009 from 2:00-4:00 pm for all volunteers involved with the program.
