Are You Feeling the Tug for a Mission Trip?

Do you want to go on a mission trip? During the week of January 21-28, 2017, Todd Jaussen has been asked to be the Devotions Leader for a trip sponsored by Meeting God in Missions. During that trip, MGM will be building a new school building for the Deaf School at Hato Mayor in the Dominican Republic. They are in need of construction workers. Todd and Jan Jaussen will be doing ministry among the pastors and the villages at that time as well. If you have any questions, please ask Todd or Jan Jaussen or Paul Sereda.

2015 Dominican Republic Trip to Take Different Approach (UPDATED)

The 2015 mission trip to the Dominican Republic is scheduled for February 28 - March 7, 2015. This trip will concentrate on creating a long-term investment in the DR by teaching work skills of any fashion to the Dominicans. Anyone comfortable with offering training in carpentry, electrical, plumbing, sewing, or other employable skills should consider making this trip. Cost for the round-trip flight and and a week of accommodations at the MGM complex in Hato Mayor will be $990. Start praying about this matter now!

Update: We have decided to cancel the planned mission trip for March 2015. Todd and Jan Jaussen are still scheduled to go the second week of March 2015 for a Pastoral training week and work at the Compassion School. If anyone would like to join them on this trip, they can find lots to do. In fact, there will be a construction project under the direction of Kim Costanza being done that week at the Del Rey house where Ney lives. See Todd Jaussen or Paul Sereda if interested.

Crossroads Team in Dominican Republic, Watch for Reports

A team of 20 members affiliated with Crossroads is currently in Hato Mayor of the Dominican Republic. They are performing various services for the Dominican people including teaching, training, construction, medical and dental, and VBS. Watch for reports from the team members on our Pastor's page.

2014 Dominican Republic Mission Team Prepping

Another Crossroads mission team will be heading to the Dominican Republic March 15-22, 2014. The team consists of 20 members affiliated with Crossroads: Paul and Cindy Sereda, Martha and Suzy Johnson, Todd, Seth, Peter, Stephen, and Daniel Jaussen, Jenyl, Caleb, and Jacob Arisman, Jeff and Barb Knauff, Carly Roesh, Jamie Mausser, Corey and Rachel Cowan, Kathryn Spence, and Colin Kytchak.

Please pray for their safety. Pray that God will use them in a mighty way to further His Kingdom. Pray that the hearts of the Dominicans will be opened to receive Christ.

Dave Campbell Heading to Papua New Guinea

Dave Campbell will be leaving October 26, 2013 for Wewak, Papua New Guinea as part of a team of 9 from I-TEC. They will begin installing a new generator and underground wiring at the New Tribes Sepic Headquarters over 3 weeks. Dave will attempt -- as time and internet availability allows -- to report on the trip and progress. Any personal reports from Dave will be posted on Crossroads Reports site. Also the team's postings can be followed at I-TEC's trip site.

Follow Beka Jaussen's New Adventure

Beka Jaussen has boldly begun a new phase of her life. She has arrived in Hato Mayor of the Dominican Republic to help establish a Christian coffee shop and bookstore as a representative of the Whitefields Foundation. She will be blogging about her activities so check out her posts.

Crossroads Team Going to Dominican Republic

A team of 25 individuals associated with Crossroads is traveling to Hata Mayor in the Dominican Republic on a mission trip. They are departing March 1, 2013 and most are returning March 8, 2013. A few are remaining on the Caribbean island until March 15, 2013.

The team with be doing construction projects, VBS sessions, medical services, entrepreneurial training, teaching pastors and counseling their wives. Please pray for their mission and for God's Will to be done.

As time allows and if internet service is available, some team members may be reporting back on their efforts and adventures. The reports will be posted on the Pastor's Blog page as they become available daily.

Info Session for Dominican Republic Mission Trip (UPDATED)

For all signed up for the mission trip to the Dominican Republic, there will be an informational meeting on Sunday January 27, 2013 at 7:00 pm. Information concerning travel, times, what to bring and not to bring, and ministries opportunities will be distributed. This will be a time to present and answer all your questions.

Update: This meeting has been rescheduled for Sunday January 27, 2013 following the Worship Service.

Interested in a Mission Trip? (UPDATED)

You can make a difference. Crossroads is teaming with the White Fields Foundation to sponsor a short-term mission trip to Hato Mayor in the Dominican Republic on March 2-9, 2013. The goal will be to teach and preach the gospel to the Dominican peoples through training and serving their needs. Cost will be about $1,000 which includes airfare, meals, room, and board. A current passport is required. No shots are needed! It is very important that anyone interested in going sign up by Sunday October 21, 2012 in order to get an accurate head-count for the very competitive ticket buying process. See Pastor Todd Jaussen or Paul Sereda for more information.

Update: The team will be joined by a large group of medical students from Penn State Hershey led by Liz Atnip along with Pastors Todd Jaussen of Crossroads and Lon Snyder from Riverwood Chapel of Kent, Ohio. Kim Costanza and Justin Crocker will lead an effort to train Domincans in pastoral leadership. An entrepreneurial team be led by Becca Jaussen.

The deadline for the $500 deposit is December 1, 2012.

The applications for His Work His Way 2012 are available. There are applications for student workers, adult workers and homeowner repair applications. If you know someone who needs help with their property, please talk to them and have them fill out a homeowner application. Applications and more information can be found on the website.

Two Missions Teams Gearing Up

During January 2012 two separate teams from Crossroads will be heading to the mission field.
  • One team will be returning to the Dominican Republic January 14-21, 2012 to continue work as done in previous years. This team will consist of Paul Sereda, Dave Campbell, Jeanne Bell, Lee Earnhardt, Abe Johnson, Todd Jaussen, Dan Jaussen, Seth Jaussen, Beka Jaussen, Mary Jaussen, and Grace Jaussen.
  • David Campbell and Matt Courtney will be traveling January 28-February 9, 2012 to El Sembrador, Honduras through World Gospel Mission. The local missionaries in El Sembrador are seeking donations of much needed tools for the mission: several new corded electric drills, drill bit sets, any type of screwdrivers, and good 7 1/4 inch circular saw blades. See Matt or Dave by January 23, 2012 if you are able to donate any of these items.
Please be praying for their safety and that God will use them in a mighty way to further His Kingdom.

Info on Next Dominican Republic Mission Trip

The next mission trip to the Dominican Republic through Meeting God in Missions is scheduled for January 14-21, 2012. Please sign up immediately if you plan to take part as a head count is needed by mid-October, 2011. An initial deposit of $500 is due by the end of October, 2011.

Report from the Dominican Republic Mission Field

In January 2011 two teams from Crossroads traveled to the Dominican Republic as part of a much larger group to serve the needs of the native population both physically and spiritually. One team consisted of the Jaussen sisters: Beka, Mary, and Grace. Each one has submitted a brief report below of their experiences.

Short Term Mission Opportunity Coming to Greenville

This summer there will be a special short term mission opportunity right here in Greenville during the week of June 20-25, 2011. His Work His Way is a nonprofit Christian community development organization whose purpose includes upholding the dignity of vulnerable homeowners who live in Greenville and neighboring communities. It will be sending out crews of teenage and adult volunteers who will give freely of their time and energy to perform free home repairs for homeowners. The hope is to touch lives with the love of Christ by using paint brushes, hammers, shingles, rakes, and drywall.

Anyone entering 7th grade and above can participate. There will be work available for all ages and skills both on the work crews and behind the scene supporting them.

All participants will have the opportunity to stay at Thiel College during the week to help promote the atmosphere and fellowship of a mission trip. All meals will be provided.

Each participant needs to complete this application form and return it to the address listed or Dave Campbell or Sue Preston as Crossroads. Application forms and participation fee are due by Friday May 6, 2011.

Also needed are projects to work on. If you are (or know of) a homeowner in the area and have home projects or repairs that you are not able to accomplish either due to physical limitations or financial obligations, then please complete this homeowner form and return it by Saturday April 30, 2011.

Pastor Todd to be Teaching in Zambia

Pastor Todd Jaussen will be traveling to Zambia Africa from March 3-16, 2011 for the purpose of teaching and encouraging the local indigenous pastors. He will be visiting the areas of Livingstone and Lusaka in Zambia.

Please pray that God will glorify Himself through every aspect of this time and will use it to strengthen and encourage His church. Also pray for his family while he is away.
